22 – Wives Submit to your own husbands as unto the Lord.
The text above simply asks that a wife must submit to her own husband the same way she submits to the Lord Jesus Christ. That brought me to the point when i realised the call to Submit as a wife is but for a category of wives.
Thats because your submission to your husband is likened to your relationship with Christ.
So the question is what happens if the wife does not have a relationship with Christ, can she understand and transfer same to her own husband.
A wife is only able to play the role of submission when she has a relationship with God. So your relationship with your husband is a reflection of your relationship with God. If theres constant contention, constant disagreements and misunderstandings, move your focus from your husband. Quit blaming him and begin to understand that you are reflecting how you relate to God.
Let me try to explain it better….
What does it mean for Jesus to be Lord in your life. Your actions and reactions, decision and choices are based on what he says not your own opinion.
So if you are always looking to do what your lord says you must do, like; forgiveness, humility, gentle spirit, love, patience, kindness, joy, peace, goodness, faithfulness many more… Gal. 5:22-24 and Col. 3:12-15.
When you begin to act in obeidence to Christ, you begin to exhibit same towards your husband and thats ‘submitting to your own husband’ without difficulty then you become very attractive to him.
