24 – Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
How does the church submit to Christ? Whats your relation with Christ as the church.
Its amazing how because of our revence for God we always try to protect the relationship we have with him. Like one woman would say ‘if it was not because i go to church like you will see’ or ‘ you wait let me go to church and come’
We are so mindful of the Lords place in our lives… thats what should reflect in our submission to our husbands.
As i pondered over this text i asked myself what are some of the practical things i do to show my submission to Christ.
– Trying as much as i can to depend on his leading to avoid sin. Because sin spoils the relationship and makes it difficult for me to come freely to him; connect it in your relationship with your husband. What will make it difficult for you to flow with him. Perhaps the ways you speak to him or something else…
– Quickly trying to restore my relationship with Christ by asking for forgiveness and trying not to repeat my sin; in realation to your husband. Are you quick to apologise and eager to restore your frienship?
And many more that you can ponder over yourself….
Thats what God means by submit to your husband in everything.
We are very capable of making our own choices and decisions but the call, is to run it by him, seek his opinion and see what he thinks. You might think you are wiser than him but your obedience and submission will cause him to begin to respect you.
God has made marriage in such a way that one cannot be independent, there is always interdependence. Eph. 5:32 its indeed a mystery.
Am not saying we should be fools to our husbands but what am saying is lets be wise by doing what God says…. submit in EVERYTHING 😎!
